Tackling health inequalities

Health Lottery London West exists to tackle health inequalities across its region. It raises money to help reduce health inequalities across its region. It does this by running a society lottery and working collaboratively with independent charity, People's Health Trust, to develop local interventions.

We donate the good causes funds we raise to People's Health Trust, who invests these in communities wishing to make their neighbourhoods even better places to grow, live, work and age.

This grant making trust funds local people who have great ideas about how they can make their neighbourhoods even better places to grow, live, work and age.

The project will run dance, yoga and Tai Chi sessions, as well as coffee mornings of Asian elders from north Croydon. The project, led by a steering group made up of participants, aims to bring residents from different Asian backgrounds together.

Ima Miah from Asian Resource Centre Croydon says: “’This funding allows us to deliver dance movement classes for older people from Croydon to improve their health and wellbeing.’’
